Dear Barry,

 

I must honestly say that I'm lost for words when

comes the task of writing something for you,

so this link below is all I have for now,

it's leading you to a grand piece of work

I have finished quite some years ago,

a work in honour of the Bee Gees and

what they mean to me,

that's what I had in mind, but then...

it turned out to be so much more.

All I can do is hope you're going to read it

and enjoy what I've done,

I may add some lyrics for you to sing

afterwards, too, but for now...

I hope that this is going to be enough,

it belongs to the best works I've ever done,

to me... it's a book on its own,

nothing less,

and it's going to tell you a lot about

who I am, what I have experienced,

what I have learned...

and it may also tell you that all is well

with your loved ones over there.

Nothing to Wish For

 

We had something to wish for

when we were young

a distant heart to reach

and conquer with a song

we found a door with oh so many

I must express my gratitude

and I am glad I have

a family to belong.

 

We all have something to wish for

in our lives

and you can trust me

I'm a man with open eyes

but I'm the only brother left of four

and being the eldest to survive

that's nothing to wish for...

but it's good to be alive.

 

When I'm watching the nightsky

I can see

a beautiful scape of stars

amongst them may be me

but in reality we're human

I've had to watch some fall and die

that's nothing to wish for...

I'm still left to wonder why.

 

The rocket can catapult you

much too far

you can't control it

from the seat in which you are

and to watch the world below you

all your love just made to burn

that's nothing to wish for...

you just pray for safe return.

The Only Gain (From the Fields of War and Pain)

 

I was afraid

since I had been hurt

it made me put on

armour and sword

out to protect

the values of home

for all of my loved ones.

 

I was afraid

that I was too frail

so I stayed awake

to never fail

people relied

on me to be there

amongst all the brave ones.

 

And I believe that

once you've been a soldier

that's what you'll remain

it doesn't matter what you wanted

things can change for worse again

anything you've learned is saved to be

recalled when comes emergency

and always being ready

it might be one's only gain

from the fields of war and pain

Mo (The Administrator)

(not meant to be turned into song,

even less so to be performed in public,

but I believe I had to tell you this:)

 

Believe it or not...:

 

I've got a small fortune in eternity

no need to worry, it's waiting for me

had all female staff in my castle up there

and a standard-contract for them to care

for all of my needs, cause I am a single

sometimes I take one and sometimes we mingle

and when I'm away they take care of each other...

there's been no other man...

but now there's your brother.

 

Cause when Maurice had arrived over there

he asked for a job and I didn't beware

I offered the place of an administrator

with not much to do, details following later

and reached for the contract that he would subscribe

the standard formula, no need for a bribe,

but now he's obliged to serve me like the others...

I wondered how he would explain to his brothers...

 

but when Robin came... unashamed... declared he

that he's now taking care of 'em all...

just like ME !

 

(And I believe he's going to quit the job soon as I'm back,

cause there's no notice periods fixed in the formula either !

How could I be so dumb... lol).
